From 8:00am to noon on October 8th, Glen Echo Fire Department and neighboring departments will conduct a drill on large-scale medical emergencies (known as mass casualty incidents, or MCIs). The drill will take place at Walt Whitman High School. For this drill, we'll need around 20 volunteers to act as patients. Volunteers will be given fake injuries (using moulage) and instructions on how to act during the drill.
Volunteers must be able to remember and follow detailed instructions, be emotionally mature, and be able to take the drill seriously. Some people may find the simulated emergency stressful or emotionally taxing, especially given its location in a school.
Lunch will be provided.
