Habitat for Humanity ReStore® is an integral part of Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland! ReStores help fund our projects throughout Montgomery and Prince George's counties. ReStores are a nonprofit retail outlet that sells household goods and furniture at deep discounts, thus diverting tons of reusable materials from the landfill. It is also one of our affiliates largest fundraising efforts to help fund our mission of providing decent, affordable housing to lower income families.
Volunteers keep ReStore® going! Volunteers will help the staff with a variety of tasks, including keeping the store neat and orderly, greeting customers, providing customer service and answering questions. We have a specific need for volunteers who can assist with unloading furniture and moving large donations. Volunteers will also assist in moving and re-arranging merchandise. We welcome volunteers with many skills, capabilities and experience levels to volunteer with us one day at a time, or by making a longer-term commitment.
The shifts available are from 09:30 am to 1:30 pm, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm Monday through Saturday. Sundays from 11:00 am-3:00 pm and 1:00 m-5:00 pm.
We are also Flexible with shift times for regular consistent volunteers
ReStore® is SSL and ACS approved. We start our volunteer at 14 years of age and a paper waiver with parent/guardian signature is required for those under 18.
