The RICA Association, Inc. is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) whose mission is to originate and provide funds for special programs and projects for the students at RICA. RICA is a community based public residential treatment and educational facility serving children and adolescents, ages 10-18, with severe emotional disabilities. Board members work in conjunction with RICA to provide the best possible therapeutic and educational environment for the students while they are enrolled at RICA, and then throughout their transition back into the community or upon graduation. Board Members are responsible for raising money for needed programs and projects for the students at RICA; attending monthly meetings; serving on committees (fundraising, finance, policies, public relations, nominating); recruiting new board members. It would be helpful if the volunteer had experience in fundraising, event planning, and/or public relations and marketing, but it is not necessary. Orientation and in-service training will be provided by volunteer services
