Mobile Food Distributor

Assist local residence in need in the Wheaton/Aspen Hill area receive canned and packaged food at a designated location within easy access to their place of residence. Two or three volunteers are needed at least one Sunday a month to unload and display food items for individuals or families seeking food assistance. This is an extension of the service offered at Mid-county United Ministries pantry located in Wheaton. In order to make the securing of food by those in need more convenient, each Sunday afternoon the Mobile Food Pantry will set up in locations closer to where those in need can access this service. Once the food is displayed, volunteers will tactfully guide those needing the help through the various choices they may make in their food selection. Finally, volunteers will reload the truck for the return to storage.
