During community service week (22 - 28, 2017), we will be working on a big outreach project, which will include both making information packets and making outreach phone calls. The packets will be send to local schools so that school staff can get information about the service we provide to the parents of children who are newly diagnosed with learning disabilities. The phone calls will be to tell people about the resources we have to offer, and to find out what resources would be helpful to the people we contact that we might provide in the future, as well as outreach to members regarding volunteer opportunities.
LDAMC is a totally volunteer-run, non profit organization. Our mission is to help individuals with learning challenges, their parents/families and the professionals (teachers, specialists, etc) who work with them find resources and information. Most of the resources and information we provide are free to the community.
Requirements: There are no real requirements for volunteering for this particular event, we need you (and your phones, if possible)! If you would be willing to make phone calls, we ask that you bring a phone with you to use (we will provide everything else that you will need and snacks).
This event will take place on Tuesday 10/24 from 10 - noon at the Olney public library.
