Friends of Dorothy's Woods will hold a workday on November 12th.
Neighbors trained as Weed Warriors by Montgomery County will lead community volunteers. Activities will include removing English Ivy, porcelain berry, kudzu, multiflora rose, and non-native honeysuckle.
Friends of Dorothy’s Woods is a group of neighbors and supporters of the 2.68 acre wooded parcel near Circle Ave and Woodland Ave purchased by the City of Takoma Park in January 2015 and named “Dorothy’s Woods” in September 2016.
Our mission is to encourage and involve Takoma Park resident participation in the care of Dorothy’s Woods, to improve the health of Dorothy’s Woods by invasive species removal, to educate Takoma Park residents about invasive species and what they can do to help, and to build connections between neighbors/residents.
