We are accepting applications for volunteers for all three Title I summer programs, Extended Learning Opportunities Summer Adventures in Learning (ELO SAIL), Extended Learning Opportunities Summer Title I Enrichment Program (ELO STEP), and the Building Educational Leaders for Life Program (BELL) for Leleck Elementary School. You are applying for a location.  If you are selected as a volunteer for the location you will be placed in one of the programs detailed below. Open to rising 7th grade students to rising 12th grade students. 

The times for this volunteer opportunity will be from 9:00-3:30, Monday through Friday, every day from July 9th until August 10th. 

A mandatory orientation meeting at Leleck Elementary School will be on June 28th, time TBD. 

Note that students will only be able to sign up for (1) school/location to volunteer.  Click to see the full list of locations to ensure you are signing up for the one school where you want to volunteer.

  2. Please complete the Title I Summer Program Volunteer Form - including all signatures, and email it to Jennifer_L_Herman@mcpsmd.orgThis is a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE process based off of when the forms are received. 

 

All applicants will get an email response after May 18th to let you know whether or not you have been selected. Applicants who are selected will be emailed a link to an additional form and an emergency card to complete.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided along with transportation from cluster locations.  It is the parent's responsibility to get their child to and from the cluster location on time for the bus. 

Students will be asked to have their phones turned off while they are volunteering as they will be assisting students with literacy and math skills.

ELO-SAIL

The Extended Learning Opportunities Summer Adventures in Learning (ELO SAIL) continues to be offered to students entering grades K-2 for the 2018-2019 school year in all Title I schools. Student's benefit from literacy and mathematics lessons that preview the curriculum content for the upcoming school year, thus providing an opportunity to build on skills critical to academic success.

ELO STEP

Extended Learning Opportunities Summer Title I Enrichment Program (ELO STEP) invites select students entering grades 3-5 for the 2018-2019 school year in Title I schools. ELO STEP is an opportunity for traditionally undeserved students to have increased access to advanced programming. ELO STEP is designed to nurture critical and creative thinking skills through engaging, hands-on, rigorous instruction.

BELL

The Building Educational Leaders for Life (BELL) program invites select students entering grades 3-5 for the 2018-2019 school year in Title I schools. Through small group instruction the BELL program offers research-based curricula in the areas of literacy and mathematics. Each afternoon student's participate in hands-on enrichment activities, with Friday schedules offering educational field trips.
