Love dogs and interested in becoming a volunteer Puppy Parent? Warrior Canine Connection is seeking volunteers who are interested in giving back to Veterans with invisible and physical disabilities by helping to raise a future service dog.
WCC relies on the help and support of these volunteer "Puppy Parents” to fulfill our mission of providing highly trained service dogs for our nation’s heroes.
Puppy parents provide loving homes, training, and exposure to the public for Golden and Labrador Retriever puppies starting from approximately eight weeks of age through 2 years of age. Qualified individuals or families must be willing to:
- Provide a stable, safe, consistent, and loving environment.
- Supervise the growing puppy throughout the day, teaching manners and basic commands.
- Provide exposure to different environments throughout your community.
- Attend weekly training classes in Boyds, Maryland and in public settings.
If you would like to learn more about this opportunity, we are holding a one-hour informational session at our Healing Quarters on April 10th, 6 – 7 pm. At the meeting, we’ll introduce you to some existing members of our puppy parent community, review the details of the program, and provide next steps. If you would like to attend, please register here: http://signup.com/go/rZdKeMq
