Wheaton is walking to celebrate art, its diverse cultures, and its designation as an Arts & Entertainment District. The festival will feature music, dance, film, and a gathering of artists and community organizations from Wheaton and all of Montgomery County. The Wheaton Arts Parade &  Festival needs volunteers to help throughout the day. All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and a coupon for food and drink from one of the festival food vendors. Volunteers will serve in shifts of 3 hours from 7am until 7pm and can spend the rest of the day enjoying the parade and festival. The shifts between 7am and noon will require the most volunteers during set-up and the parade. Volunteers may sign up for more than one shift.

Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

  • Set up for parade & festival - 7am-10am
  • Parade traffic control (adults only) - 9am-12pm
  • Staff information booth & T-shirts - 10am-5pm
  • Assist artists making and exhibiting - 10am-5pm
  • Assist in conducting children's art activities - 10am-5pm
  • Support performance stages 11am-5pm
  • Support film tent 11am-5pm
  • Break down 5pm-7pm

There will be volunteer orientation on September 16 from 2-4pm.
