Volunteers will help Only Make Believe staff decorate costumes that are utilized during performances for children at hospitals and care facilities in the DC Metro Region. Only Make Believe provides a variety of arts and craft supplies. Volunteers are asked to use their creativity to make costumes that will speak to a child's imagination. You do not need sewing skills to participate. This is an ongoing need as the children involved in our performances get to keep the costumes they wear during the shows. In 2018 we anticipate serving 2,000 children and their families in the DMV. This volunteer opportunity can accommodate 15-20 volunteers at a time.
Volunteers must sign up for a specific day by confirming with the Volunteer Manager, Chris Wilson (cwilson@onlymakebelieve.org). We ask that they stay for the entirety of the event (2 hours). Please wear clothing that you would not mind getting marker or glue on. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event.
