Description

The Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation, Inc. (OI Foundation) is the only voluntary national health organization dedicated to helping people cope with the problems associated with osteogenesis imperfecta. The Foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life for people affected by OI through research to find treatments and a cure, education, awareness, and mutual support.

The OI Foundation's first Medics on the March event will kick off on Friday, April 26, 2019! The OI Foundation is challenging the dedicated physicians who support our OI community to hike 50 miles along the C&O Canal Tow Path from Harper’s Ferry, WV to Bethesda, MD over the weekend of April 26-28, 2019 and help kick-off the OI Foundation’s 50th anniversary celebrations! Volunteers will be needed on both Friday and/or Saturday to assist with setting up and taking down campsites for our hikers (putting up/breaking down tents, moving luggage, etc.). This is a wonderful opportunity for any high school students completing SSL hours, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, or any outdoorsy adults who want to help the community! We ideally would love assistance for both Friday and Saturday mornings, afternoons and evenings, and will be accepting volunteers for any amount of time that is possible for them! To help you get an idea of which times are most needed, here are a list of shifts:
