Come join So What Else Baltimore while we with The Food Project, a powerful, grassroots movement dedicated to ending food insecurity in West Baltimore. Far too often, healthy food is inaccessible to communities experiencing poverty, resulting in what is known as food deserts. Inaccessibility to nourishing food leads to health risks and disease, and we firmly believe that no one should be without access. The Food Project is committed to creating a safe space for youths every day after school, andd to filling the bellies of youths and their community at-large with nourishing food. When we break bread together as a community, we strengthen and grow community. Come break bread with us and support this incredible endeavour.
We are looking for volunteers to help with:
Youth activities, which begin each day at promptly 4pm
Serving dinner, which goes from 5-7:30pm. This include meal prep, serving, clean-up, dish washing, etc
While there is no age minimum for this opportunity, it is suggested that youths under the age of 16 be accompanied by a parent or guardian as there is not a designated staff to play the supervising role for younger volunteers.
