The Greater Washington D.C./Virginia Chapter of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation is committed to supporting the estimated 3 million Americans impacted by Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis by hosting the DC Take Steps Walk at Yards Park on Saturday, June 15th. Check-in for the walk will begin at 10:00am and the walk will begin promptly at 11:00am. The purpose of the walk is to raise awareness about Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and to support efforts to find a cure. The money raised from this event will go directly towards research, education, patient care, and advocacy.
Volunteers will be helping set up for the walk which will include duties such as hanging signage, arranging food items, organizing festival areas, and decorating tents. During the walk, volunteers will be cheering on participants and monitoring the festival tents. Volunteers will be assigned one of two shifts: 7:00am - 11:00am or 9:00am - 1:00pm.
