In efforts with Montgomery County Parks, So What Else is organizing community trash pick-ups! The Montgomery County Park locations will be decided based on where the highest needs for trash removal are. These pick-ups will also be occurring on days when MCPS has no school or half day schedules.
Every day, the average person produces 5 pounds of plastic waste. Each year, nearly 17 billion pounds of plastic waste makes its way into the ocean.
So What Else has remained committed to performing trash clean-ups during our after school & summer camp programming with the amazing youths that we serve. Encouraging environmental stewardship is a big part of our mission. Now, we are calling to action community to clean up our local parks! Together we can all be stewards on this beautiful, sacred earth.
