Volunteers will meet at the Caretaker's Cottage (on the grounds) at 10:00 a.m. to be given instructions regarding the Spring Clean Up. Dress to work outside, bring gloves, shoes to walk the ground and pick up old grave decorations placed at grave sites during the Winter months. We will put old decorations and trash into garbage bags for removal. Collect fallen branches that will be picked up by a wagon. Unload the branches onto a trash pile on the grounds. This is in preparation for the beginning of Spring and Summer mowing.
We estimate 1-3 working hours for this event. All ages welcome, from 6th grade up. Hilly, rough ground must be traversed. Please dress appropriately for weather of the day. Collect grave decorations, sticks and trash come rain or shine.
Parking is available along Avery Road by the entrance of the Upper Cemetery. PLEASE NOTE: There are no bathroom facilities at this location.
SSL students will be required to write a reflection paragraph about this event on their SSL form, which each student must bring with them to this event.
