MLK Week of Service Virtual Advocacy Opportunity for MS and HS Students
This virtual advocacy opportunity is designed for middle school and high school students interested in learning more about the significance of the MLK Week of Service and various ways to serve the community.
MCPS students may earn up to 4 SSL hours for engaging in this virtual advocacy opportunity and participating in follow-up advocacy action by submitting thoughtful responses to a Google Form during the month of January.
All students may participate and earn up to 4 SSL hours by actively engaging in the virtual slideshow posted at https://bit.ly/MLKWeek2021.
Responses to the Google Form provided in the slideshow must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on January 31, 2021, to earn SSL hours.
Directions for MCPS students:
- AFTER viewing the slideshow and watching the embedded videos located at https://bit.ly/MLKWeek2021, students must complete the SSL Google Form located at the end of the slideshow by 11:59 p.m. on January 31, 2021, to earn SSL hours.
- Students will need to be logged into their MCPS student accounts to access the Google Form.
- Please complete this form ONLY ONCE -- FIRST view the entire slideshow and watch the embedded videos, and THEN complete this form AFTER you have finished. You will earn 1 SSL hour for each Video Features set you watched and completion of this advocacy exercise (maximum of 4 SSL hours).
- Please make sure your responses reflect thoughtful insight into the material presented and accurate and thorough coverage of the content.
- This form must be fully completed by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2021, in order to be eligible for SSL hours. Please make sure you click "Submit" at the end.
- Students do not need to submit a separate MCPS SSL Activity Verification Form for this specific opportunity.
- The MCPS SSL team in central office will review student responses and enter SSL hours into student records by February 28, 2021.
