This year we will be participating in a socially distant week of service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
We have a variety of means in which you can participate, whether you prefer to stay at home and participate virtually, or you prefer to use one of our clean-up kits to personally clean up our local streams & parks. We can also provide you with County Sponsored activities that you'll need to pre-register for. Here is a list of some activities we are facilitating:
Safe and Healthy Local Park,
Stream or Neighborhood Cleanup
January 16 - 24
Pick up Trash Collecting Kits* on
Saturday, January 16 • 11 am - 12 pm
at Wheaton Library & Burnt Mills Special Park East, Silver Spring
If nature appreciation is your thing, on Saturday Jan. 16th you can pick your individual kit to do some clean up at a local park, stream or in your own neighborhood. You can use your kit any time in the following week, but please remember to socially distance and bring your trash/recycling home to dispose of through your regular trash pick up service.
*Kits include a trash bag, a recycling bag, gloves, hand sanitizer, and directions to some suggested areas for clean-ups.
