Community Ambassadors Needed to Make Appointments and Promote Current Lake Forest Mall Vaccination Clinic at Pop Up Tent Event in Gaithersburg
On Friday, May 21, from 4pm - 7pm, the County will be hosting a COVID-19 Vaccine Appointment Scheduling/Clinic Promotion Pop Up Tent Event at H-Mart Supermarket Parking Lot, 9639 Lost Knife Rd, Gaithersburg, 20877. Volunteers will promote and make appointments for a vaccination clinic going on now at Lake Forest Mall just across the road.
Our goal is to encourage everyone we meet who is not vaccinated to do so right away at a convenient current FEMA mobile clinic, provide information, and answer vaccine-related questions. To ensure safe interactions, staff will practice social distancing, wear masks, use hand sanitizer, and rely on materials with QR codes. We are looking for a total of 3 volunteers to join our team. Ability to speak Spanish French, Vietnamese, Chinese, or Korean helpful.

Background:
Covid has disproportionately affected certain communities within Montgomery County. At the same time, these areas where Covid rates are the highest are where vaccination rates are the lowest. Barriers include accessibility, technology, hesitancy, limited English proficiency, isolation, and disinformation or conflicting messaging. That's why in-person outreach in underserved communities is still needed to inform residents and assist them with getting the vaccine. We need to get the ENTIRE County vaccinated!

1) If you have not yet attended one required Zoom Information Session, please sign up by going to our Vaccine volunteers web page under "Resources for Community Ambassador Volunteers".
2) After you attend the Information Session, update the "Qualifications" section of your Volunteer Center account. Instructions are here. NOTE: This system will not allow you to register for any outreach event without completing steps 1) and 2).
