WCCC is launching a Mystery Mansion on seven evenings over the last two weeks of October. The story line includes distinct scenes, and Actors are required to bring these scenes to life. Costumes are provided and character development can be enhanced by the individual volunteer. If you have every wondered what the other side of a haunted house looks like, this is your chance to be part of the magic.
Specific roles include beheaded queens, grizzly old mountain men, mad scientist, glorified poet, football hero, and more! This activity is flexible in September and October, with a commitment to meet regularly to plan and coordinate with our creative team. Performances during at least three of the seven nights in late October are required. Sign up for the kick off meeting to choose your role, get a costume fitting, and start your character research and development! Can earn up to 60 SSL hours with the right level of commitment, or you can simply learn one role and volunteer for three nights for a minimum of 20 hours.
All activities will comply with current CDC, Montgomery County and MCPS requirements to respond to the spread of COVID-19. Events will be held outdoors when possible. Indoor events will take place in our auditorium or large meeting room, with social distancing possible and ample air circulation at all times. When indoors, masks will be required for unvaccinated volunteers and members. Vaccinated individuals will wear masks in compliance with current MoCo mandates. Do not attend an activity if you have any signs of illness or any confirmed recent exposure to COVID-19. Hand washing and hand sanitizer will be readily available. Frequent wipe down of highly utilized areas will be observed in all areas where volunteers are present.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
