Spread holiday cheer by adding an ornament to our Community Tree. The Tree will go up at the Kentlands Mansion in December. This event is open to all ages. One ornament=1 SSL hour, with a maximum of two ornaments. Ornament supplies can be purchased on your own, or select supplies are available at the Kentlands Mansion. The Kentands Mansion will post tutorials on their social media pages to creat ornaments with materials most people have at home. Ornaments are due NLT Dec 20th at 4:00 p.m.
All Ornaments:
- Must include an ornament hook, ribbon or loop to hang it on the tree
- Must be able to withstand the weather
- Must be shatterproof
- Must be able to demonstrate art processes and incorporate different art supplies (ex: paint, sculpture, drawing, printing, markers, acrylics, etc)
- Must be secular in nature - no religious references or materials
- Must not contain profanity or explicit imagery
- Must not contain food elements, glass, sharp objects or candles

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety and privacy at any time the student is interacting with the nonprofit and its clients. The nonprofit organization will determine the number of SSL hours awarded based on the evidence submitted. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns. This service activity is designed to be completed within the safety of the student’s home until the end of the 2021-2022 school year.
