The 40th annual 2022 Washington Folk Festival will take place on Saturday, June 4, from Noon to 7:00 PM, and Sunday, June 5, from Noon to 7:00 PM, at Glen Echo Park in Glen Echo, Maryland. Admittance to the festival is free every year because of VOLUNTEERS! That’s right: performers, emcees, stage crew, sound engineers, operations, food servers, and office staff all donate their time and their talents. As always, this year’s festival needs you!
Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks, including:
- Helping with set up prior to the weekend of the festival. This includes setting up tents, stages and other tasks associated with getting ready for the festival
- Helping during the event weekend, including: stage management, performer check-in and support, operations, info tables and CD sales, trash crew and hospitality.
- Helping with break down in the days after the event
Work is generally scheduled in two hour blocks but volunteers are encouraged to help as long as they like.

Student SSL participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
