Join us for the 1st Annual PeaceJam Mid-Atlantic Youth Leadership Conference, "Compassion in Action," hosted by 2014 Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Kailash Satyarthi received the 2014 Nobel Prize for leading a global movement to end child slavery and exploitive child labor practices.
PeaceJam Mid-Atlantic has partnered with Montgomery County Public Schools to invite select students to participate in this in-person* conference experience.
This life-changing leadership conference provides high school youth (9th-12th grade) with the amazing opportunity to spend the day with a world leader for peace and engage with hundreds of change agents from around their region. During the conference, Satyarthi will deliver a keynote address followed by a Q&A with students, with additional opportunities for dialogue and discussion throughout the day.

Time: 8am-8pm (All meals and snacks will be provided to student attendees)
Registration fee: $20 (scholarships available)

*PeaceJam Mid-Atlantic will follow State of Maryland and Center for Disease Control guidelines in place at the time of the event. Conference organizers will follow the State of Maryland and/or Montgomery County Public Schools COVID-19 restrictions for indoor social gatherings in place at the time of the event (i.e. masks/face coverings, hand hygiene, etc.). Students experiencing symptoms should not attend the event. Organizers will notify attendees if there are any changes to the event guidelines.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
