Description

Every day, teens and youth hangout with friends in parks, play basketball at the Community Center, navigate sidewalks to walk to the store, and more! These and other public spaces are important places, and the City of Takoma Park is looking for help to think about how to prioritize and improve them.

If you are a teen who lives in or regularly visits Takoma Park, we want to hear from you! We’re looking for local middle and high school students to join a youth-only discussion to share your perspectives and opinions on how City staff should be thinking about public space.

The City is in the middle of creating a Public Space Management Plan, which will look at how decisions are made about parks, plazas, sidewalks, streateries, roadways, and more.

This one-hour, interactive workshop will ask you to share about your experience with these public spaces in Takoma Park (whether they are good or bad). Your input will directly impact the direction of our Public Space Management Plan.

Pizza, salad, and beverages will be provided to participants. If you enjoy your time, keep an eye out for additional events like this later in the summer!
