Pride in the Plaza Festival - Sunday, June 26, 2022
Volunteers are needed for various shifts at Montgomery County’s 2nd annual Pride in the Plaza Festival in Veterans Plaza (Downtown Silver Spring). The festival is coming up next Sunday, June 26, 2022 12-8pm. See shift options below with associated tasks and sign up here. Happy Pride!

Setup
Up to 10 volunteers needed
|
10am-2pm
|
- Put up 10, 10’X10’ pop up vendor tents
- Arrange tables under large tents
- Support nonprofit vendors set up their display tables
- Support our health screening partner setting up inside the Civic Center
- Hang signs and banners around the plaza
- Set up our “photo booth”
- Decorate main stage with rainbow décor Support balloon arch vendor in building the balloon arch
- Usher people who enter the festival into health screening areas
- Distribute water/snacks to nonprofit/vendors
- Respond to nonprofit/vendor needs
- Sit at nonprofit/vendor tables if they need a break
- Monitor festival area for trash/clutter and throw it away/recycle

Event Maintenance
Up to 10 volunteers needed

2pm-6pm
|
- Usher people who enter the festival into health screening areas
- Distribute water/snacks to nonprofit/vendors
- Respond to nonprofit/vendor needs
- Sit at nonprofit/vendor tables if they need a break
- Assist nonprofits/vendors with removing their gear at 5pm
- Monitor festival area for trash/clutter and throw it away/recycle

Breakdown
Up to 10 volunteers needed

6pm-10pm
|
- Break down 10, 10’ x 10’ pop up tents
- Un-decorate the mainstage
- Support breakdown of balloon arch
- Usher people who enter the festival into health screening areas
- Distribute water/snacks to nonprofit/vendors
- Respond to nonprofit/vendor needs
- Sit at nonprofit/vendor tables if they need a break
- Monitor festival area for trash/clutter and throw it away/recycle

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
