Clarksburg is a great place to live, but sometimes it can feel like there is never anything to do and nowhere to go.
We want to make Clarksburg better by creating great places for the community to hang out and play games along the Frederick Road bike path. "The Clarksburg Yard" is a new and upcoming outdoor venue that creates a space for Clarksburg to be.
This summer we are starting to develop "The Clarksburg Yard" by establishing a community garden available for those in Clarksburg who love to or want to learn more about gardening while connecting with others.
What will I be doing?
Fall is garden cleanout time! We will be picking the remaining veggies and fruit, pulling weeds that have grown over in the summer sun, and getting ready for the next growing season.
Please bring water, bug spray, gardening/work gloves if you have them, and wear closed-toe shoes (and pants to protect your legs if you like).
Where to meet?
Meet at Clarksburg Church (22820 Frederick Road, Clarksburg, MD 28071).
What time?
There are two shifts for this project: 9:30-11:30am and 12:00-2:00pm.
Can I work both shifts?
While you are welcome to work both shifts, in our experience, most volunteers have the stamina to the garden for 2 hours. But 4 hours can often leave people unfocused and tired. Unless you have previous experience gardening for extended periods of time, we prefer you only sign up for one shift.
PLEASE SIGN UP ON OUR SITE to let us know you are coming to the project: GO to https://clarksburgchurch.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/1445634
