SREC Performing Arts Charitable Showcase 2023
Calling all Singers, Dancers, Instrumentalists, Anyone with Special Talent
Shu Ren Education Corporation (SREC) Charitable Performing Arts in-person Showcase 2023 will be held at Asbury Methodist Village https://www.asbury.org/asbury-methodist-village/on 2/4/2023, Saturday, 2:30-4:00pm. The dress rehearsal will be on 2/3/2023, Friday , 6:30-8:00pm .
Audition:

- submit a YouTube video in less than 5 minutes by 12/9/2022 to 2020virtualtalentshow@gmail.com
- Age requirement: 4-18 YO
In 2023, SREC will continue its partnership with local schools and organizations including American Chinese School Rockville campus, Kingsview Middle School, Washington Dunhuang Academy, Chinese Christian Church of Germantown (CCCG) and Montgomery College, the Department of Nursing.
Please note that students can only earn SSL hours for the time spent performing for a community in need; auditioning or rehearsing for the performance is not included in SSL hours per MCPS SSL guidelines.

Below is the background about our events:
During the pandemic of COVID-19, SREC, as a non-profit organization successfully hosted two virtual talent shows, We Are The World 2020 and 2021 supported by local schools, institutions and churches. As COVID-19 restrictions were lifted in March of 2022, SREC successfully hosted four in-person showcases in the summer of 2022.
The SREC performing art platform has been expanding quickly in the past two years. The total number of performers, volunteers, and audience involved in the events has almost reached 1000.

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours.
