Students and their families are invited to participate in the Awards Event and support teen filmmakers and artists.

Students who want to volunteer and receive SSL hours will be supporting the finalists and winners, helping the judges and presenters, and learning about the festival and about running the event. They will also be viewing and learning about the winning films and the documentary topics featured.
Supervisors will be the event production manager, the festival competition manager, the executive director, and the venue staff.
In our film classes, students have choices and their voices matter.
Action Youth Media is a non-profit that focuses on teaching students and young adults how to use digital media and the fine arts to advance youth voices. Our mission is to create communities where young people build the confidence and media skills to express themselves and to promote community building, multi-cultural understanding, and the common good.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
