Join Action Youth Media to promote social justice in the Takoma Park, MD July 4 parade. Simply march with a t-shirt or banner, or volunteer to help photograph or film the event.
Registration is required.
Parent must provide permission form signed for this special event, in advance. Form will be provided upon registration on EventBrite.
Parent must accompany any kids under age 14.
Parents encouraged for age 14 to 16.
Action Youth Media Mission statement: To provide inclusive spaces where young people find their unique voices, gain self-confidence, and learn the media skills they need to be thriving community members.
Students have the opportunity to find their voice and are empowered to initiate change in their communities through film. Middle and high school students are encouraged to register.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
