The Takoma Park Independence Day Committee is looking for volunteers to assist with the Takoma Park 4th of July parade. Our parade fosters patriotic and community pride and celebrates the diversity of our community. There are two shifts available: morning and evening.
Morning Shift:
Time: 8am to 12:30pm
Location: Takoma Park Community Center, 7500 Maple Ave, Takoma Park, MD 20912
Seeking at least 8 student volunteers, ages 14-18 (volunteers must be rising high school freshmen or above)
Volunteers will pass out flyers and programs along the parade route, set up the hospitality area and information booths, help make sure streets that are closed stay blocked off, collect signage at the parade’s end, offer t-shirts for sale at the information booth, help break down the staging area, and assist with other aspects of the parade as needed.
Evening Shift:
Time: 5pm to 9:30pm (4.5 hours SSL)
Location: Takoma Park Community Center, 7500 Maple Ave, Takoma Park, MD 20912
Seeking at least 8 student volunteers, ages 14-18 (volunteers must be rising high school freshmen or above)
Volunteers will greet visitors, be available to answer questions at the information booth, hand out flyers and programs, and sell raffle tickets.

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
