Job Title: Youth Camp Volunteer
Reports to: Camp Director or Assigned Supervisor
Schedule: Sunday – Friday (one-week programming)
Location: On camp site (Camp site cabin lodging and meals will be provided)
Job Purpose: The Youth Camp Volunteer will assist with various aspects of the summer camp program, providing support to campers and staff as needed. The volunteer will work closely with the camp director or assigned supervisor to ensure the overall success of the camp program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with camp activities, including games, sports, arts and crafts, and team-building exercises.
- Support campers as needed, providing guidance and encouragement to promote a positive camp experience.
- Help maintain a safe and clean camp environment, following all health and safety guidelines.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required, actively participating in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including record-keeping, data entry, and communication with parents.
- Work collaboratively with other volunteers and camp staff to ensure the smooth operation of the camp program.
- Model positive behavior and attitudes for campers, consistently demonstrating respect, responsibility, and good sportsmanship.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old (or age requirement set by the camp).
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a camp or youth program setting preferred.
- Willingness to comply with all camp policies and procedures, including those related to behavior management and emergency response.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others and maintain effective working relationships.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with campers of all ages and backgrounds.
- Enthusiasm for working with youth and promoting a positive camp experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and run for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to engage in physical activity and outdoor recreation with campers.
