Waymaking Special on Student Mental Health
November 1, 2023 (6 p.m. - 8 p.m.)
Former professional football player turned mental health expert and advocate, Dr. Jay Barnett, will be speaking to students about the importance of mental health, breaking down stigma, and seeking help.
There will be a forum for students to share information about mental health issues impacting them, as well as resource tables with information for students on how to seek help.
This event will be presented in-person at Richard Montgomery High School, as well as live streamed on MCPSTV and MCPS en Español. There will be Spanish language interpreters as well as American Sign Language interpreters present for the event.
MCPS students, please DO NOT RESPOND to this opportunity. Any MCPS student in grades 6-12 can earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours for attending and participating in advocacy action.
