PLEASE READ THIS SECTION THOROUGHLY BEFORE REGISTERING. We are looking for volunteer help to unload our delivery of Christmas trees the weekend of November 18th.
We just got the word that the actual time is now Monday, November 20th at 5pm. There are no hard feelings for anyone that registers and then has to pull out because the date/time did not work out for you.
This consists of helping us to unload 750 Christmas trees from the tractor-trailer truck at the Wheaton Rescue Squad station on Arcola Ave across from the Wheaton library. Park in our ballroom parking lot. We will provide work gloves, but wear some old clothing as there is some pine sap from the trees and we don't want to see you mess up any of your good clothes.
We will have signed SSL forms on site for you and also information on volunteer and career opportunities in the Fire/Rescue service.
You can work by yourself or in teams of two for the heavier trees, and we need you to move them from the back of the tractor-trailer to piles in our parking lot where we will designate what tree size goes on which pile. Our members will be there to help you move them to the right spot.
This is actually a lot of fun and goes pretty quickly when we get plenty of help. If you have any questions, you can email me via the volunteer opportunity web site.

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
