Xi Sigma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® invites you to come and volunteer with us in honoring Dr. King's legacy for the following exciting and community-based projects.
- Emergency Kare Kits Assembly
- Assemble stuff animals, hygiene kits, coloring books and much more in a backpack to be donated to a Montgomery County police station to be provided to children removed from their homes in emergency situations.
- Assemble Blankets
- Tie blankets for the Emergency Kare Kits and Project Linus
- Comfort Pack Assembly
- Assemble Adult Activity Books and Pencils to be donated to a senior center in Montgomery County
- Greeting Cards
- Craft greeting cards to go with the Emergency Kare Kits, Comfort Packs, Pretty Pouches and Gentlemen's Kits.
- Window Hangers Creation
- Craft window Hangers to go with the Emergency Kare Kits, Comfort Packs, Pretty Pouches and Gentlemen's Kits.
- Pretty Pouches Assembly
- Assemble hygiene products to be donated to a women's shelter in Montgomery County.
- Gentlemen's Kit Assembly
- Assemble hygiene products to be donated to a men's shelter in Montgomery County.

SSL hours are available. Students will receive 2 SSL hours for their time served. Light refreshments will be served.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
