The Montgomery County Commission for Women is once again offering its Emerging Leaders Program (EL) as part of its 42nd annual Women's Legislative Briefing (WLB). The WLB will take place on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 12:30-5:00 pm, at The Universities at Shady Grove. The Emerging Leaders Program will be from 2:30-5:00 pm.
Emerging Leaders is a fun, interactive program designed for students in grades 6-12. This year's program has two sessions:
Session One: Next Steps: Planning for Your Future! This workshop focuses on options post-high school. Want to get an internship? Need to learn more about saving money and investing in your future? Are you considering a vocational or trade career? Learn all that and more at this session!
Session Two: Be Engaged: Your Community Toolkit! Students will hear from various professionals and learn about the importance of advocacy and civic engagement. This is a great opportunity to learn how to make sure your voice is heard and how to make a difference in your community!

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
