April is Earth Month. What better way to celebrate than to help out in your own community on a day off from school! In partnership with City of Takoma Park's Public Works Department, teens can volunteer to assist at the Stuart Armstrong Garden at the corner of Philadelphia and Holly Avenue. Participants will earn 2 SSL hours!
Teens will meet at the Takoma Park Community Center in the Teen Lounge at 12:30pm and take a short walk to the volunteer site. Light snack and water will be provided.
Please be sure to wear closed toe shoes and appropriate clothing as participants will be tending to the garden.
Space is limited! You MUST be a Takoma Park, MD resident in order to participate.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
