Join Brookside Nature Center staff and other volunteers on the morning of May 25th as we fill our flower pots for the season!
Visitors to Brookside Nature Center enjoy sitting, chatting, and relaxing on the decks that lead to the main entrance of the center. Every spring, we fill large flower pots with a variety of annual plants to enhance the beauty of these outdoor spaces.
During this workday, we will fill these large pots with soil, plant annual flowers in each pot, place the pots in their deck locations for the season, and get everything watered and in good shape!
Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Don't forget water and a snack! Gloves and all other tools necessary will be provided. Moderate to heavy work involves bending, lifting, and carrying items of various sizes and weights.
For ages 12+. Participants under 14 MUST have a guardian register and attend with them.
Students can earn SSL hours by participating in this activity!
