Montgomery Parks is offering a program sharing the adventures of mountain biking for people who may need adaptive biking equipment, in Wheaton Regional Park. We couldn't do this without the help of volunteers!
Skilled Mountain Bike Enthusiast volunteers (18 and older) Duties and Requirements:
- Lead or act as "sweep" on adaptive mountain bike trail ride. Will provide 2:1 support for an individual with a disability.
- Assist with obstacles on the trails; or assist riders with disabilities in navigating trail terrain.
- Complete the Adaptive Mountain Bike Ambassador Training through M.O.R.E. (Preferred experience).
- Able to provide basic instruction to participants with a strong emphasis on tailoring techniques for the needs of the rider.
- Must provide own bike.
Volunteers will be working outdoors and should dress for the weather.
Schedule includes orientation from 9-9:50 AM. Program start time is 10 AM.
Breaks will be provided throughout the day.
Lunch, refreshments, and a tee-shirt will be provided!
