Description

SSL Opportunity: The LIFT Academy is seeking student volunteers to help us plan and promote the inaugural Summer College Prep Conference.

This is a multi-day volunteer opportunity that concludes with attending the conference. Students will earn SSL hours for the time spent in the office planning and promoting the conference. We anticipate that students can earn up to 30 SSL hours for this project, but the hours earned depend on the student's participation.

We are looking for students with skills related to graphic design, event planning, wellness, community service initiatives, blog writing, social media content creation, photography, community outreach, public speaking, and college planning.

The planning work will occur during the week between 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Rising 6th graders through rising seniors are welcome to volunteer for this opportunity. Students volunteering in the office should bring lunch. Families are responsible for providing transportation to campus.

Conference attendees will participate in engaging sessions and create a college application plan tailored to their aspirations and goals. Sessions will include exploring college options, understanding financial aid, writing college admission essays, and more.

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian  and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
