Amerigroup DC "Community Resources Fair" (Spanish Fluency Preferred) 

Description: On Friday, July 26th from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, we will be participating in a tabling event sponsored by Amerigroup DC "Community Resources Fair". This event will be an opportunity for us to introduce ourselves to the local community and engage with them on an individual basis. We will be tabling at this event as an invitee to share information with the community about our services and support we provide. As we partner with Amerigroup for various corporate volunteer engagements, we are so thrilled to participate in an event of theirs! We are looking to have 2 volunteers, broken up into two shifts, to join us at our table to help speak about our services to individuals stopping by.

Responsible to: Our Volunteer Coordinator, Connor Paul, as well as our Community Outreach Specialist, Diana Fitz

# of Volunteers Requesting: We are looking for at least 2 volunteers to join us, broken up into two shifts and assist at our event. The specific shift requirements and capacity still available is noted in the sign ups below.

Shift description:

  • Assisting with table setup before the start of the event
  • Serving as an Ayuda representative at our Community Resource Fair event table
  • Connecting with passerby's to speak about the services we provide as an organization
  • Managing the table including setting out additional materials and keeping a tidy/visually appealing space
  • Assist with table breakdown and clean up after completion of the event

Qualifications:

  • Volunteers joining will need to be personable, outgoing, and engaging with strong public speaking skills and an ability to connect with individuals from any background.
  • Volunteers who are bilingual English/Spanish will be given preference

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian  and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
