Save the trees! Join Sarah, Weed Warrior Supervisor, for a non-native, invasive plant removal workday at Willard Avenue Neighborhood Park in Bethesda, MD.
Meet at the entrance to the Park between the Willard Towers Apartment Building and 5326 Willard Avenue. There is free parking on the street as you head down Willard Avenue towards River Road.
Weather policy: We usually hold Weed Warrior Workdays as long as there is not pouring rain or deep snow. However, if the weather is deemed dangerous for outdoor activities, we will cancel. Cancellation will be posted on the LFWA website one hour before the event start time.
Please wear long pants that cover your ankles, long sleeves, and sturdy, closed-toed shoes. Bring gloves, pruners, small folding hand saws and/or loppers if you have them. Gloves and tools are available to borrow if you don’t have your own. No power tools or machetes allowed. Please bring water to drink. Please note: Court Ordered Volunteer Hours can’t be granted through this workday.
This event is capped at 10 Montgomery Parks volunteers.
This workday is pre-approved for MCPS SSL hours. Volunteers under 16 are not permitted to use tools, so if you are under 16, please email the Weed Warrior supervisor ahead of time to see whether they will have meaningful work for you to do. Volunteers 14 and under must be accompanied by a pre-registered, responsible adult.

- If you already have an account in the database, but forgot your login info, email the WW Volunteer Coordinator, and don’t create a new account.

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
