The headliner, Dianne Reeves, was recently honored by the National Endowment for the Arts as a 2018 NEA Jazz Master. Jazz is America's one true original art form. Its creation comes from the combination of Western European classical music traditions and African culture.
There are three volunteer shifts from 1pm-5pm; 5-9:00pm, 7pm-10:30pm. But if these times don’t suit you, just come when you can. We particularly need assistance for the early shift for set-up and for break-down. The jazz festival performances go from 3:30pm-9:30pm.
Our volunteers are important to us and we will try to make the experience as fun for you as possible. The volunteer coordinator will assign you to whatever need is most pressing during the festival. When you check-in let the volunteer coordinator know if you have any physical limitations or don’t want to be doing a specific task.
Check-in for Jazz Festival volunteers will be at the festival site, at the information desk on the corner of Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street.
Dress appropriately for the weather. If it is raining – wear a raincoat. It could be hot. Wear sunscreen and sneakers (or other very comfortable shoes).
