We also are in SERIOUS need of volunteers before, during and after the Crab Feast. If you can give an hour or two, it will help to make this event a success. Specifically, we need volunteers adults and kids (SSL hours available) for:
Veggie Prep on Friday late afternoon or early evening -- come help clean and prepare the mounds of beans, carrots and greens needed.
Set-up Saturday Morning -- Tables and chairs need to be set out, tables wrapped, and mallots, paper towels etc. all laid out. There is also set-up for the various cooking stations, beverage sales, the food serving line, etc.
Kitchen Crew Saturday Morning and Throughout the Day -- Come help prepare the side dishes in the morning or help keep the food cooking and delivered to the food line throughout the event. Pot scrubbers are also very much welcome!
Food Servers during the event -- Come work the line, dishing up all the delicious food while getting a chance to say hi to neighbors and friends you don't see often enough.
Beverage Servers during the event-- Help out the folks running the lemonade stand or selling the soda, beer and wine.
Chicken or Crab Crews during the event -- Assist the extremely talented chefs making the chicken and crabs.
Clean-up Post Event starting at 6 p.m. -- Last year we had the whole place cleaned up in under two hours! Impressive, yes? That was because we had at least 25 people pitching in.
It takes more than 100 volunteers to make the CJ Chicken and Crab Feast so successful and fun! Please find an hour or two in your schedule to pitch in.
