This opportunity is geared towards volunteers who already completed the trainings on 11/5 or 11/10, but anyone interested in helping seniors complete SNAP applications and meet their food needs, is welcome.
We are getting closer to our goal of gathering a group of caring and well trained individuals to go in the community to fight hunger and reduce food insecurity in the senior population.
In this orientation, you will:
Learn about specific food assistance resources in Montgomery County,
Learn about other resources for seniors in Montgomery County.
Learn how to do outreach to diverse populations.
Prepare yourself for some of the many scenarios you will face while serving.
Ask and get answers to your questions on SNAP outreach to seniors.
Practice entering a SNAP application in the myDHR website
Role play interviewing and assessing food insecurity in seniors.
