Our signature annual event will be on the weekend before MLK Day 2019 (January 19, 2019). Student volunteers must register online via this website. Students are required to bring their own SSL forms. Please wait in the lobby of the Stamp Student Union at UMD upon arrival.
Students will be engaged in the following activities:
- Set up for the event (laying down extension cords, setting up tables, etc.)
- Directing traffic to the parking lot (students may be outside, please wear warm clothes)
- Helping with tech issues at specific table groups (wifi, etc.)
- Helping with check-in process
- Helping with directing crowd to surveys on their way out
- Helping at the social media table in engaging people for activities
Please note, a student may sign up for more than 1 shift, however, due to Montgomery County SSL requirements, no more than 8 hours may be earned in one day. If you sign up for more than 1 shift, you will be expected to be present for the full time during both shifts. The SSL coordinator will only be providing signed forms at the end of the shift, not mid-shift.
Parking will be provided at the University of Maryland campus. Individuals may be either dropped off/picked up in from the Adele H. Stamp Student Union or park and walk over from Lot 1. Please note parking anywhere aside from Lot 1 may result in a ticket and we are not responsible for tickets in unauthorized parking locations.
