Please join us on March 27th to learn about complex aspects of the SNAP applications such as making updates to completed SNAP applications and submitting changes and documentation updates to active cases.
Through this training, volunteers who are already trained and registered for the Senior Hunger and SNAP Outreach Program will learn how to change or update an existing SNAP application. Since the certification period for seniors receiving SNAP benefits is 36 months, oftentimes, the supporting documentation that is submitted upon initial enrollment in the SNAP program becomes outdated. For example, changes in financial circumstances such as rent increases or more frequent medical bill payments may affect how much money a SNAP participant receives each month in benefits. It is therefore necessary to edit/update SNAP enrollment information to ensure that participants are receiving the maximum benefit amount possible each month.
This training will be held from 2-4:30pm.
If you have any questions or need any further information, please email Amanda Nesher at anesher@mocofoodcouncil.orgor Diana Tato-Niktash at diana.tato-niktash@montgomerycountymd.gov.
*Please note that this is an additional training for volunteers who have already completed the Senior Hunger and SNAP Outreach Program New Volunteer Training*
