The Children's Inn at the NIH strives to meet the needs of the children and families who participate in the care and research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), one of the worlds largest research centers. The mission is to provide a free, family-oriented "place like home" that supports families through educational and therapeutic programs.
As volunteers, we will help prepare and serve a brunch for the residents of the Children's Inn and their families. There is a MAXIMUM OF 3 VOLUNTEERS, MINIMUM AGE OF 18 and all volunteers must be adequately well to be able to attend (no colds or coughs, please). We will not be eating with the residents, who are encouraged to engage with the other families.
The date of this volunteer opportunity is Sunday, May 5th. We will volunteer from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. We will meet at the NIH Gateway Center, which is located adjacent to the Medical Center Metro Station at the South Drive entrance to campus from Rockville Pike / Wisconsin Avenue (Route 355). It combines visitor parking, non-commercial vehicle inspection and visitor ID processing, all in one location. All visitors must enter through the NIH Gateway Center.
