PLEASE READ
SAFETY GUIDELINES
The health and safety of our volunteers, participants, and community is a top priority. Therefore, all Up 2 Us volunteers are required to wear a non-medical mask or face covering. Please read and follow the procedures outlined below to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
FACE COVERINGS
In accordance with the CDC recommendations, Up 2 Us is requiring the use of a non-medical mask or cloth face covering by all volunteers while participating in this Saturday’s event “Groceries 2 Go”. Thanks to the Food Security Task Force, we have a limited supply to provide to volunteers. If needed, please take one. If you are able to, please bring your own face mask.
We ask that you please follow these procedures for proper ways to apply, wear, and remove a face covering while participating in Saturday’s event:
-
Wash or sanitize hands prior to applying the face covering.
-
Apply face covering to fit snugly around the nose and mouth.
-
Avoid touching the front of the face covering. If you do, wash your hands and change your gloves, if applicable, before resuming work.
-
Remove face covering from behind by using the ear loops or strings. Do not touch the front of the mask or face covering. Wash or sanitize hands after removing.
-
Dispose of any single-use mask after use. Launder and dry cloth face coverings before next use.
Also, please follow CDC recommendations, which specify that a cloth face covering you purchase or create should:
-
fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
-
be secured with ties or ear loops
-
include multiple layers of fabric
-
allow for breathing without restriction
-
be able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape
HAND HYGIENE
Up 2 Us recommends that all volunteers sanitize hands before, after, and throughout Saturday’s event, as necessary. Single use-gloves are not required but you may wear your own if desired. Thanks to the Food Security Task Force, we have a limited supply to provide to volunteers. If needed, please take one pair. If you are able to, please bring your own gloves. We offer hand sanitizer while supplies last. We thank you for using your own supplies as needed and ask you to please follow these guidelines about single-use glove use when using:
Single-use gloves are not a replacement for proper hand washing or sanitizing and should only be applied to hands that have been sanitized or washed with soap and water.
Furthermore, gloves must be changed and hands re-washed or sanitized after:
-
gloves get torn or dirty
-
4 hours of continuous use
-
touching face or hair
-
touching any potentially contaminated surface
-
using the bathroom
Up 2 Us staff will continue to monitor the recommendations of relevant governmental agencies and amend policies as necessary to maintain the safety of its staff, volunteers, and participants.

Up 2 Us recommends that all volunteers apply the following clothing recommendations to ensure the safety of everyone attending Saturday’s event.
-
Wear appropriate closed shoes (recommended sneakers/comfortable shoes)
-
Wear bright colored clothing (bright orange/reflective gear are commonly used when directing traffic to ensure you will stand out)
-
Be prepared with a raincoat or umbrella (as of today it is predicted there will be a chance of rain on Saturday morning)
Up 2 Us will continue to monitor the recommendations of relevant governmental agencies and amend policies as necessary to maintain the safety of its staff, volunteers, and participants.
