Each winter, Catholic Charities collects and distributes over 1,000 winter coats for our Coat Drive to give to people in need of a little extra warmth. This is made possible by generous donations from local parishes, schools, community groups, and individuals. We’ve given over half of our coat to individuals and families this year during our November and January Coat Distributions. Now, we need five volunteers to help sort the remaining coats so that we can bring them to schools, shelters, and other groups in need.
Please note volunteers must be at least 16 years old to participate in this event. All volunteers under 18 must bring a signed Parent/Guardian Consent Form which will be sent in the sign up confirmation email.
The Coat Drive is located in the Multipurpose Room of St. Francis Xavier Church at 2815 O Street SE, DC 20020.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
