Care Cards Guidelines
Care Cards is a project that calls on youth to write cards thanking healthcare professionals for their service in honor of National Hospital Week and Global Youth Service Day. This is a service opportunity offered by the nonprofit SGAP LEADERS in partnership with Youth Service America (YSA).
Come join SGAP LEADERS to write cards showing our appreciation for our healthcare workers! It will be at our office at 15800 Crabbs Branch Way, Suite 300, Rockville MD 20855 on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
We will be writing cards to doctors and you will receive 0.5 hours per card, in addition to the time that you are at our office. You do not need to stay the whole event to earn SSL hours, in fact, it is possible to just pop-in for half an hour or an hour to write cards!
To earn SSL hours, please sign up here: https://forms.gle/ufS43wGPeXeXVYd5A
If you have any questions, please email communications@sgapleaders.org
Privacy:
Please, do not share any pictures or likeness of the students as well as personal information such as home address, email or phone number etc. We ask that students include their first name only on each submission.
How to earn community service hours (SSL):
Each approved submission accounts for 30 minutes of community service. The maximum number of SSL hours is 4. Community service forms with the total hours earned will be distributed via email to the students (cc'd to parents).
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety and privacy at any time the student is interacting with the nonprofit and its clients. The nonprofit organization will determine the number of SSL hours awarded based on the evidence submitted. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
