For most of our families, lunch happens 7 days a week. But in the East County? 90 percent or more of the kids in some East County schools need free or reduced price lunches. What do they do on weekends?
Well, some of them skip lunch. Others reach out to meal providers like The Small Things Matter (STM). So, on October 15, we'll help STM help them. Our children and teens will make sandwiches and pack lunches during the Sunday School hour. Our meals will be helping hungry people in Takoma Park by noon. Because - people should have lunch 7 days a week.
Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
